2009 Vintage, Coastal Region, South Africa. Pinotage, a standard of South African grapes is a cross between the Pinot Noir and Cinsault varietals. This wine was made by standard and maloactic fermentation, with 14% aged in American oak for 12 months then blended with the remaining 85% aged in steel. Shiraz is added for silky tannins and spiced fruit flavors.
- Nose: Full red-berry flavors of black cherry and blackberry, a touch of cinnamon and smoke.
